Information about the Early Childhood Conference: 
Conference sponsors, Child Care Resources and K/RESA's Great Start Programs are seeking workshop proposals for the 19th Annual Child Care Resources' Early Childhood Conference on Saturday, October 25, 2008 at the Radisson Plaza Hotel, 100 W. Michigan Avenue, Kalamazoo.

AND in an effort to save costs AND “go green!” we will NOT be printing a Proceedings Book this year.  

  • Instead we plan to offer presenters a $50 Honorarium per workshop to use however you would like. 

  • In addition, we will post online any handouts you provide us so that participants can access them after the conference.  (In order to post them online, we will need your handouts in some type of e-file – PDF, MS Word, PowerPoint, etc.)

The Conference Planning Committee is looking for proposals for approximately 40 one-hour long workshops (and 4 two-hour Focus sessions) on topics that address one or more of the following populations:   

  • Infants
  • Toddlers
  • Preschoolers
  • School Agers
  • Children with Special Needs
  • Administrators and Directors
  • Center Child Care Teachers and Assistants
  • Home Child Care Providers/Teachers
  • Home Visitors
  • Parents
  • We are looking for everything from hands-on fun to business management, from early language and literacy to stress management – anything that impacts the early care and education of children! (Contact Robin@WorkFamilySolutions.com for more topic ideas.)

  • CONFERENCE DATE: Saturday, October 25, 2008

    • One-hour Workshops start at 10:00am, 11:15am, 1:30pm and 2:45pm.

    • Two-hour Focus sessions start at 10:00am and 1:30pm.

Approximately 500 attendees are expected at this year’s conference and we are once again going to pre-register attendees into workshops and focus sessions. Not only will we be able to give you an idea of how many people have pre-registered for your workshop, but we will be able to plan room size accordingly. 

Complimentary Conference Registration: You and one co-presenter can attend the conference for FREE! Please list your co-presenter on the Workshop Proposal Form.

Presenters’ Marketplace: Showcase your program or ideas at the "Presenters’ Marketplace" for free – presenters can take advantage of ˝ of an 8-foot Exhibitors table for the whole day! You MUST pre-register for this free table space. Want to use a full 8-foot table? We will be able to provide one at a reduced cost. Contact me for more information.

Deadline to submit proposal is May 23, 2008. Submit your proposal now! You will be notified about your proposal in mid-June. (If you plan to be out of town or unavailable at that time, you are welcome to call earlier for more information.)
